About the Project

GROWING UP ONLINE

SELF-ID – My Digital Self: Shaping Identity in the Digital Age is an Erasmus+ project exploring how digital environments shape young people’s identity, self-image and wellbeing. By combining research, education and practical tools, the project supports students, teachers and schools in navigating the challenges of growing up online.

Why does digital identity matter?

Growing up today means growing up online. Social media, algorithms and AI-driven content influence how young people see themselves, others and the world around them.

  • Resisting unrealistic standards

From unrealistic standards to constant comparison, these environments can affect self-esteem, body image and mental wellbeing.

  • Understanding and shaping digital self

SELF-ID addresses these challenges by helping young people better understand and shape their digital self.
